CureMaid Cafe has a promotional event for all the Gurren Lagann fans out there. This event will last from Friday 22nd August and will last till 15th September. Customers can get to try specifically designated menus as well as purchase character goods from the cafe. For those who are going to be in Japan during this length of time, then maybe you have the opportunity to try out this interesting event at the cafe. It sure looks good in my eyes and I wish I could go.

Here is a video showing a tour-like display of the cafe:

Idol Update: Maya Koizumi

BZou | August 25, 2008

I normally would post a weekly idol update every Saturday, however due to real life responsibilities I was unable to do so and therefore I am posting it on here today. Like always there is no nudity in my post however it is considered a bit on the sensitive side and therefore NSFW.

Maya Koizumi was born on July 2, 1988, so her age is 20. Her measurements are 88 cm bust size, 60 cm waist size, 85 cm hip size, and 5′4″ tall. She is known in Japanese as a “gurabia aidoru”, which means a print idol. An interesting thing about her is that she was kicked out of high school for her provocative photographs.

Without further delay, here is the gallery:

Marvel Comics heading to Japan

BZou |

Marvel has announced they’re taking another stab at introducing their superheroes to Japan, by pairing up with Madhouse (Kaiba, Gunslinger Girl, Death Note) to produce four anime series based on their characters.

Rather than simply importing American characters and concepts, said Simon Philips, president of Marvel International, the goal is to create “something that is part of the fabric of society.” This means reimagining the back stories and redesigning the look of Marvel’s stable of characters to reflect Japanese culture. “It will create an entire parallel universe for Marvel,” he said.

Now I have been a fan of comic books for ages now, long before Anime and Manga was introduced to me. Of course in the present I am more into the Japanese based animations than the American, it still nonetheless holds a special place in my heart. It would be interesting to see the Marvel Superheroes change (Japified?!?). I wonder if they will ever do Captain America…although if they do, how would they make it work (Captain Japan?). What do you all think about this revelation, are you interested in seeing Japanese versions of the Marvel Super Heroes?
