The Inaccuracy of Online Translation Sites

Have you ever tried translating a foreign language site using something like babelfish or the Google translator? Well if you had tried using them then I am sure you have already noticed the complete inaccuracy of these translations. Now I know these things were never meant to be fully relied on in the first place but more as a preliminary thing. However, despite that being the case, these translations are way off, its inaccuracy is to the point of complete gibberish and nonsensical sentences.
For example, my previous posting about the Pornstar Wife was originally from a Japanese Ask Yahoo, which you can find here. And here is the translated version using Google. Now you can already notice the problems with the translated page. A quote from the translated page:
Live in the present
Now the most. Multi He degrees in the past It’s a no mistakes People. From past experience, now dead Dental or alive
Now I have no idea wth this means and I am sure there was nothing mentioned in the original that would relate to anything dealing with “Dental.” Now if you want to read the human translated version, you can read it on my posting or at Sankaku Complex. Just curious as to who would even use these online translation devices since they are so inaccurate. What do you think of all this? Ever had a good experience with online translators?

I’ve had some pretty weird ones in the past, kind of like that. The funnies thing I’ve seen is a restaurant sign with the Chinese name on it, and then the english name reads:
“Translate server error”
…hilarious but it makes sense, they obviously had no idea what the output actually said so they put it on their restaurant banner.

Cats are scary sometimes anyway, especially when you are in the dark, have insomnia, and suddenly all you see is a pair of eyes staring at you.:P So I can definitely relate!:D
Oh yeah, Yoko is bad*ss!:D I’m convincing my husband to buy me the Yoko mousepad for my birthday, with the *eyes* raised up.:P I want that one so bad!:P

For reading Japanese articles translating seems to hate me.
For reading Japanese articles translating seems to hate me. Though for typical website navigation it seems to do well enough. For my Winamp Skin post I did pretty recently it was the only way I could get around on one site. It did it well enough for me so I knew what was going on.

After listening to my sister's advice I use the translator
After listening to my sister’s advice I use the translator in Excite Japan. It’s one of the more reliable translator I’ve met so far. Google translator is near hopeless, especially for both Chinese and Japanese. I’m serious.
I’ve onced translated a sentence from Code Geass’s website with both Google and Excite. While the correct one from Excite gives me the sentence “the brothers are close to each other”, the Google one gives me something like “the brothers make good dog”.
