Chances are you will never get the opportunity unless you are good friends with a Manga artist, however this is no longer the case. Sakura Comics has debuted a service that allows couples to turn their love story into an original comic book, called “Wedding Story Manga,” the price ranges from ¥29,800 to over ¥191,800 depending on what the customer wants.

The Manga will revolve around a plot based off of a personal story such as “a first meeting, a proposal, or another similar event.” The characters of the story will be drawn to resemble the customers via photos provided by them; they can choose from various drawing styles from a variety of samples provided by the company. You can have one drawn from something as simple as a white and black leaflet to a 16 page (fully colored) mini book.

The finished product is intended as a souvenir for newlyweds to give to guests at the reception. Not to mention that it will be a good souvenir to be used as a reminder of that special occasion.

Personally, this is something that I would definitely be into, its something that I believe both the groom and bride would both agree on. You have to admit that it’s pretty cute, and a unique little wedding souvenir to hand out to others. Imagine this; you tell your children about that magical day that you will never forget, and now you have a visual aid to let them see that story unfold before their eyes.

If you liked this story, you should also go check out CScout Japan. I found this story there, you can read up more about this topic there. Not to mention they also have a few other interesting souvenir items being discussed in that same topic.

Manga, the comics of Japan (its more than that but just to simplify), it is popular all around the world and soon it just might be even more popular.

Four of the biggest manga publishers in Japan have announced a partnership to offer their manga titles via the Nintendo Wii Ware channel. Sadly, this seems like it’s only happening in Japan (But who knows, it might transfer to other countries).

Kadokawa, Kodansha, Shueisha and Shogakukan formed a partnership with a local software devoloper to develop a platform for the manga. Initially, they hope to develope a presence on the Wii, but look towards branching out to bring manga to the Nintendo DS and other consoles.

I find it interesting how technology is allowing our hobbies to expand into further horizons that we never thought possible. I would love to play some Smash brothers Brawl and then press a few buttons to start reading a Manga. Good Times are coming my friends, good times.

This year’s 33rd issue (on sale on Wednesday) of Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine has announced that Jin Kobayashi is ending his School Rumble manga in next Wednesday’s issue. The high school romantic comedy manga has been running in the magazine for nearly six years. (It began in the 47th issue of 2002.) The advertisement for the final magazine installment promises that the story of the lovelorn high school girl Tenma Tsukamoto and her classmates “is heading toward the goal.”

Kodansha announced in February that the limited editions of the 21st and 22nd compiled manga volumes will include DVDs for the School Rumble: Third Term anime when they ship on July 17 and on September 17, respectively.
